Diagnose Faulty Components with Freeze Spray

Techspray freeze spray blasts a fast-evaporating liquid that super-chills isolated areas as a troubleshooting aid for intermittently faulting capacitors, resistors, semiconductors, and other defective components. Freeze spray also increases the visibility of cold solder joints, cracks in printed circuit boards and oxidized junctions.  

Choose the freeze spray that best meets your needs:

  • HFC-134a – Nonflammable and most common for industrial applications.
  • HFO-1234ze – A newer propellent that is nonflammable, and a much lower GWP than HFC-134a. Ideal for ISO-14000 programs.
  • Antistatic - Nonflammable HFC-134a propellant with a small amount of antistatic additive to prevent static generation that can damage sensitive components.

How does freeze spray (circuit chiller) work?
Freeze spray typically contains a mixture of volatile substances, either HFC-134a or HFO-1234ze refrigerants, which have a very low boiling point. When the spray is applied to electronic components or circuits, it rapidly evaporates and absorbs heat from the surrounding area. This causes an instant drop in temperature, effectively cooling down the targeted components.
